Welcome to Sand Hill and the 198th Infantry
Brigade here at Fort Benning, Georgia. The young men
that enter the 14 weeks of intense Infantry training undergo a radical
transformation. They enter as civilians and with much leadership,
guidance and challenge, they leave as physically and mentally fit
Infantrymen ready to accomplish the mission of our Army.
Chaplains support the training mission
of the Infantry Training Brigade by ministering to the needs of the
Soldiers from the chaos of Fill Day (the first day they arrive at their
Battalion), through the slime of the

Chamber, the pressure of weapons
qualification, through the pride of Honor Hill, the Turning Blue
Ceremony, and Graduation. The Chaplains are here to offer prayer,
counseling, encouragement and whatever else is needed to see these young
men succeed.
Through the
busy-ness of Infantry training something incredible happens – God meets
with Soldiers. And that is the reason that Chaplains are here – to
bring God to Soldiers and Soldiers to God. Soldiers normally have
an opportunity to attend a Chapel Service and Bible Study each Sunday.
There will be times where these

Soldiers will not
have an opportunity to attend chapel due to Field Training Exercises (FTXs).
Even then, a Chaplain will be there to provide a Field Service to
encourage Soldiers in their faith, and to minister to their spiritual
needs.
It is our goal and
prayer to be part of producing the complete Infantry – mentally,
physically, and spiritually fit and equipped to serve our Nation with
strength, honor, and integrity.
