There
are many faith groups represented here in the Infantry Training
Brigade. The Unit Ministry Teams provide worship to as many soldiers as
possible during their time of training here on Sand Hill. With the
variety of faith groups represented it would be impossible to meet each
denominational need, therefore we encourage the soldiers to get involved in
one of the following services.
-
Collective Protestant
-
Catholic
-
Collective Pentecostal
-
Lutheran/Episcopal
-
Latter Day Saints
-
Jewish
-
Muslim

Chapel
attendance is not mandatory. Soldiers are not forced to attend any
service, but they are encouraged to practice their faith. Going to the chapel services
is one way to do this and is a great break from the battalion each week. It is a chance to
meet with other soldiers who are like-minded in their faith.
Not only
is chapel a great time to praise and worship the Lord, it is a time for
soldiers to recharge and renew their spirits. It is a time to draw
strength and encouragement from soldiers who are completing the training
as well as encouraging those who are just getting started.
Soldiers
in training here on Sand Hill will not always have the opportunity to
attend chapel services. Towards the end of their training soldiers
are out in the field for a week long FTX (Field Training Exercise).
Since the soldiers are not able to attend chapel services during that
time, the Unit Ministry Teams take the services to them. Field
Services are a great way for soldiers to get a feel for what their
worship time may be like during a deployment. |
